The information in this text is given in a pretty easy to understand terms for a pre nursing student, however, the kindle version of this book is awful for class because it's not a textbook with pages, location areas only. This is so frustrating when prof tells you to turn to a page or read certain pages. Plus there is no mathematical equation to figure out text page to location area, and location areas can change according to if you change certain settings, which I accidentally did after trying to figure out a way to turn location area to page number. So my advice DON'T BUY THE PAPERLESS KINDLE VERSION FOR A CLASS!!!! Wish I could get my money back.

In Deborah Ellis's TRUE BLUE, high school friends Casey and Jess are finishing the summer holidays with a stint as counselors at a nearby children's camp. Among their charges is the spoilt and obstinate Stephanie, a child unwilling to participate in any activities and who is always disappearing. So, on the last day, when Stephanie goes missing yet again, no one is particularly alarmed. All that changes, however, when her murdered body is discovered in a hollow tree in the woods, and because of Casey's off-the-cuff comment and other circumstantial evidence, she becomes the prime suspect and Jess's loyalty is put to the test.

Deborah Ellis is the internationally acclaimed author of many books set in developing countries that focus on the plight of teens struggling to live in those countries. True Blue was a book that kept me turning the pages. The narrator, Jess, tells the story of the aftermath of the murder of little Stephanie and the arrest of her best friend, Casey. As the town turns against Casey and her family, Jess is torn between loyalty to her friend and the possibility of joining the popular group at school. At the end of each chapter, Jess's handwritten diary adds an additional layer to the story. As it unfolds, the reader begins to wonder just what version of the story is the truth. The fact that Jess seems as if SHE could be the guilty one made the story even more interesting.

This is a book that makes the reader consider truth, loyalty, the power of friendship, and the destructive nature of mental illness. Teens who enjoy realistic fiction with a bit of mystery will surely enjoy True Blue.

Essential Reading for VFX Producers

In this well-written and clever book Qureshi uses his experience as an accomplished VFX artist to shine a light on one of the Visual Effects industry's weakest spots: VFX management/production. His Survival Guide clarifies Producers, Directors and all other people involved in the production of computer generated images on a crucial item: the pipeline seen from the perspective of the artist. This book gives them and aspiring artists a deep understanding of all the steps it takes to make a VFX scene "on the floor" and, most importantly, how they could and should intervene to make the process flow in a more effective way. This unique work covers an important gap in the industry and would definitely help most workplaces where I, as a professional CG artist, have passed through. A definite "must read".

Great advice for producers

The VFX and CG survival guide is a very useful book. If you are a film maker who wants to understand how best to plan your VFX workflow this book is invaluable resource. It covers all the main areas which you will need during production. It's written in a very clear and concise way that make the information easy to understand.

There's not really any other resources like this out there, so this book is very helpful for all film makers and producers.
